The Unveiling of Progress

Reconstruction of the Mt. Vernon Avenue Bridge in San Bernardino has resumed, marking a significant milestone in a project that the community has eagerly awaited. This essential infrastructure project hit a temporary pause, which allowed the BNSF Railway to accommodate its operations.

However, the city's recent announcement reveals that the delay has concluded, and work on the bridge is back on track. With this development, the prospect of reconnecting the southern and northern sections of west San Bernardino is now closer than ever.

Overcoming Hurdles

The initial delay in the Mt. Vernon Avenue Bridge reconstruction project arose when the BNSF Railway had to relocate a building within its yard and make adjustments to some of its tracks to ensure the uninterrupted flow of its trains while the bridge was under construction. This significant undertaking was pivotal to the overall success of the project, ensuring that rail transportation remained viable during the bridge's renovation.
