Powell Backlash

Jerome Powell, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, is no stranger to criticism. He has faced scrutiny from the likes of Senator Elizabeth Warren and other populist-left lawmakers over his handling of inflation and the job market.

However, now Powell is facing fresh criticism from the other end of the political spectrum, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis making him a political punching bag as he crisscrosses the nation promoting his new book.

DeSantis Preview?

DeSantis, who is widely expected to launch a bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, has labeled Powell as a "total and complete disaster," saying that "people all across this country are paying for it."

DeSantis's comments offer a preview of his potential political strategy and campaign messaging if he decides to take on former President Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.
